Prof. Ringwood received a Dip.E.E. (DIT) and B.Sc.Eng. (TCD) in 1981, a PhD (Strathclyde University, 1985), and an MA (Mus. Tech.) from MU in 2005. He is currently Prof. Electronic Engineering, and was its founding head at MU (2000-2006), also serving as Dean of Engineering. Research interests include control systems, mathematical modelling and forecasting, and their application to MRE, energy forecasting and biomedical systems. He has published over 300 papers and is currently Director of COER at MU.
