OVERVIEW

Prof. Dobson serves as Chair of Environmental Microbiology in the School of Microbiology at UCC, and from 2005-2014 served as Director of the ERI at UCC. His research focuses on the study of microorganisms in both natural or artificial environments, and their potential biotechnological exploitation. He has published more than 155 papers. In 2013, he was elected to the RIA, and in 2015 was appointed to the Board of the Marine Institute.
