OVERVIEW
Dr O’Sullivan is Lecturer in Sustainable Energy Engineering at MTU where he also Co-leads the MeSSO Research Group. His research and professional interests include low energy demand-side technologies, building retrofit strategies, indoor thermal environments, ventilative cooling as well as how society more generally is affected by the future of our built environment. Prior to his current role at MTU, he spent 10 years working in the industry in both design and project-based engineering roles developing low energy technology solutions for various building and process energy systems. More recently, he is currently PI on a number of national research studies relating to heat pump in-use performance and the resilience of indoor environments to the effects of climate change as well as passive ventilation performance of low energy buildings. He was also sub task leader of the recent IEA-EBC Annex 62 project on Ventilative Cooling.
