Retrofitting is ‘huge’ opportunity to transform homes, says SEAI
Dr. Paul Deane, Research Fellow at MaREI, spoke with Colman O’Sullivan of RTE about the government’s plan to reduce green house gas emissions, through upgrading home insulation.
Irish homes are responsible for one quarter of overall energy use and 10% of greenhouse gas emissions, and the plan is to reduce those emissions from six million tonnes in 2017 to less than four million tonnes by 2030 and to do so by retrofitting 500,000 homes.
