Introduction

UCC wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Structural Engineering. Reporting to the Head of the School of Engineering and Architecture, the successful candidate will undertake research and teaching in Structural Engineering.
 
Applicants should have relevant degrees to doctorate level in Civil or Structural Engineering and an appropriate track record of research and publications in areas relevant to Civil and Structural Engineering. They should also have relevant experience and/or a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Industry experience, including research links would be an advantage. A track record in securing funding for, and participating in, national and international research projects would be an advantage. In addition to teaching Civil and  Structural Engineering the successful candidate will be required to undertake research and generate research funding in key strategically important areas relevant to Civil  and Structural Engineering in the School of Engineering and Architecture, in the Environmental Research Institute (https://www.ucc.ie/en/eri/) and in the MaREI Centre for Energy, Climate and Marine Research (www.marei.ie). The successful candidate will also be required to participate in appropriate administrative and/or leadership roles across the discipline, school and university.
