Mohammad Sameti
Senior Post Doctoral ReseacherResearchers UCD Energy Transition Offshore Renewable Energy
OVERVIEW
Dr. Mohammad Sameti is a senior researcher in MaREI and currently working on cost-effective decarbonization through large-scale implementation of green hydrogen, bioenergy, and geothermal technologies in Ireland.
CURRENT ACTIVITIES
Mohammad works on the PROBONO project on the topic of urban decarbonization including transportation, sustainable electricity generation and smart networking of municipal buildings in a Living Lab in Dun Laoghaire (Dublin). He works with the council to implement novel strategies for sustainable urban neighborhoods and energy positive buildings in a smart integration network with the connection to electric vehicle charging, which will including scenario testing to identify optimum energy efficiency retrofit interventions for future climate scenarios.
BACKGROUND
Mohammad was involved in several projects namely LiftWEC, Green Hysland, and IEA ANNEX 37 as well as IEA ANNEX 43.
Mohammad is an editor in Sustainable Cities and Society (link: https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/sustainable-cities-and-society) publishes in Elsevier.
Prior to those projects, he received his PhD in mechanical engineering from Concordia University, Canada. His previous research was focused on optimization and modelling of district energy systems and integration of renewable energies. Those research areas were connected to IEA-ECES Annex 31 “Energy storage with Net Zero Energy Buildings and Districts: Optimization and Automation” and published as a part of it. Mohammad joined University College Dublin (UCD Energy Institute) in 2019 under Energy Systems Integration Partnership Programme (ESIPP) as a researcher working on diversification of gas end-use and supply.
