Have you completed or are you planning a home energy upgrade?
University of Galway is seeking households who are planning or have completed a home energy upgrade, to take part in an interview to discuss their home energy upgrade journey and their experience of engaging with home energy upgrade services in Ireland.
Orlaith McGinley (PhD researcher, University of Galway) will conduct the interviews over the next two months. Householders will be asked to discuss their home energy upgrade journey, the quality of the home energy upgrade service used, the quality of the energy upgrade measures installed, and the benefits they feel the home energy upgrade has brought.
Participating in this research will help determine how Ireland’s home energy upgrade services can be better designed and improved. You will also help inform the design of future home energy upgrade policy measures and encourage others to embark on their own home energy upgrade journey. This will help the Irish government to reach their target of upgrading 500,000 existing dwellings in Ireland by 2030.
This research is part of a doctoral research project, led by Orlaith McGinley (PhD researcher, School of Engineering, University of Galway), with supervision from Professor Jamie Goggins and Dr Paul Moran (School of Engineering, University of Galway), and Professor Victoria Haines (Loughborough University). This research is funded by Science Foundation Ireland and the MaREI Centre.
