OVERVIEW 

With acoustic data, Jasmine studies the distribution, abundance and behaviour of porpoises, dolphins and whales in relation to existing and planned wind farm sites.

BACKGROUND

Jasmine completed her MSc degree in Ecology and Conservation biology at Uppsala University, Sweden in 2016. In her master’s thesis, she studied the behaviours of grey seals in relation to fishing gear, at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU Aqua) and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Aqua). After her degree, Jasmine worked with marine research and teaching at Uppsala University and Kolmarden Wildlife Park. Prior to starting her PhD position at UCC in 2022, Jasmine was the program manager of the health and disease surveillance program of marine mammals in Sweden, at the National Veterinary Institute (SVA), which she also was part of constructing and establishing. Jasmine has a strong interest in marine ecology, animal behaviour, multidisciplinary research, new technologies, sustainability, and polar science.
