Wave Energy Rig Testing Workshop: Bridging the Gap between Research and Deployment
The IMPACT project is delighted to announce that their “Wave Energy Rig Testing Workshop: Bridging the Gap between Research and Deployment” will take place on the 12th of April 2024 at the Hotel Giò in Perugia, Italy.
The event will showcase how rig testing can contribute to accelerating the development of the European wave energy sector, and feature presentations from international and Italian experts from both academia and industry.
The programme will consist of four technical sessions, covering the latest developments in rig testing, the benefits it can bring to the wave energy sector, and the benefits of rig testing in other industries. Participants will then be taken on a visit to VGA’s new test rig facility in Deruta, to view IMPACT’s innovative Dual Hardware-In-The-Loop testing platform. This platform has recently been used to test components of Carnegie Clean Energy’s CETO wave energy converter.
