This event will showcase the powerhouse of expertise in Sustainability available at UCC to support industry partners navigate the challenges presented in the transition to a circular economy and more sustainable society.

UCC President, Professor John O’Halloran MRIA, will welcome senior business leaders to University College Cork to discover how to connect, collaborate and partner with UCC.
Throughout his career, Professor O’Halloran has worked collaboratively to embed sustainability as a core value at UCC, and to promote sustainability and environmental awareness on a broader scale. Sustainability is central to the UCC Strategic Plan 2023 – 2028: Securing our Future.
Hear from keynote speaker, Sean O’Driscoll, Chair, UCC Governing Authority. Sean is the Chair of the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) and is a member of the Ireland 2040 Delivery Board and of the Trilateral Commission.
He is a former Chair and Chief Executive of the Glen Dimplex Group, a former Partner in KPMG, a former director of Allied Irish Banks and a former member of the National Competitiveness Council of Ireland and of several Government Appointed Advisory Groups. He is also the recipient of an OBE and a Légion d’Honneur Award.
Rachel O’Leary, Director of Business Engagement, UCC will introduce UCC’s new Business Engagement Portal which is designed to support the needs of industry partners to access UCC’s Talent, Skills for Work courses, Research expertise and Innovation.
Rachel has over 25 years’ experience working at the industry interface within the private, not-for-profit, and public sectors. Her new role, Director of Business Engagement, is part of the University’s commitment to industry partners and focuses on enhancing the University’s engagement with industry, identifying collaboration and partnership opportunities.
