Overview

Dr. Lightbody is Senior Lecturer in Control Engineering at UCC. His current research activities focus on the application of intelligent control techniques to areas such as: biomedical applications, renewable energy, wind and wave power, AC/DC micro-grids, smart grids, advanced motor control and power systems control. His H-index is 37 (Google Scholar). He has published over 198 peer-reviewed papers, and for the past 22 years, he has been an associate editor with the Elsevier and IFAC journal Control Engineering Practice
