Festivals & Events
Our public engagement programme includes involvement in a number of festivals and events including Science Week, Cork Science Festival, Cork Harbour Festival, SeaFest, Famelab, and Engineers Week. We collaborate with partners to run community open days, interactive exhibitions, workshops, public talks, and cultural events. Keep an eye on our news and events section for upcoming activities.

Schools & Youth Engagement
Our education and outreach activities for schools and youth groups include our Ocean Devotion workshops, mentoring, and our involvement in the STEAM Ed programme. Check out our education resources below.
Higher Education
In higher-level education MaREI supports over 50 PhD candidates in diverse research areas across the Centre and contributes to a number of Masters programmes. MaREI students can avail of industry internships, international student exchange programmes, and transferrable skills training in commercialisation, entrepreneurship, communication and public engagement. MaREI researchers also contribute to higher education through lecturing in third level institutions, thus further enabling knowledge transfer to new generations of researchers.

Energy Engineering Wind Turbine Marker Event
At this maker event sponsored by Statkraft Ireland 1st year Engineering students from UCC were challenged to build micro wind turbines from recycled materials.
