MaREI Director Brian Ó Gallachóir spoke on RTE Six One News about the challenges facing Ireland

MaREI Director and Associate Vice-President of Sustainability at University College Cork Brian Ó Gallachóir spoke with David McCullagh on RTE Six One News last night about the challenges facing Ireland as we seek to accelerate renewables growth and energy transition.

In this interview, Professor Ó Gallachóir highlighted the good news that Ireland has achieved a significant reduction in electricity related CO2 emissions in 2023. And, the bad news is that wind energy in Ireland grew by only 4% in 2023, despite our strong track record in wind energy.
