MARINERG-i Webinar: Testing Services & Opportunities
The MARINERG-i Testing Services & Opportunities Webinar will take place on Monday the 14th of October at 11am on Zoom. The keynote speaker is MaREI’s Dr Jimmy Murphy, who will also present on the upcoming funding calls for ORE testing with RISENERGY.
Dr Jimmy Murphy is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering in UCC and Lead Technical Engineer of the Lir National Ocean test Facility (Lir NOTF) in the SFI MaREI Centre. He has over 25 years’ experience in the area of engineering in the marine environment and particularly tank testing, hydrodynamic modelling and field studies in both offshore and coastal environments.
MARINERG-i is a first step in realising the partnering facilities’ combined vision to form an independent legal entity and be adopted onto ESFRI roadmap in 2020. By consolidating expertise, investment, and access to infrastructures, the MARINERG-i Research Infrastructure will foster innovation across a variety of technologies and stages of development. As the only integrated Offshore Renewable Energy platform of this scale worldwide, it will be the epicentre of this developing industry.
