Prof. Ryan is Theme leader for Energy and SFI PI at the Bernal Institute and Chair of Chemical Nanotechnology at the Department of Chemical Sciences at UL. His research interests include Semiconductor Nanocrystals and Nanowires with emphasis on Synthesis, Assembly and Device Applications in Energy Storage and Energy Conversion. He coordinates the EU Project Si-Drive to deliver the next generation of Li-ion Batteries for EVs. He has a h-index of 32 (ISI) with over 110 publications, 8 patents, and €15m in research funding.
