Nikita Verma
PhD Student
Postgraduate Student
UCC Energy Transition Advanced Fuels in the Circular Economy

OVERVIEW

Nikita is a PhD student in MaREI and working on Developing Cascading Biomethane Biochemicals and Biofertiliser Systems for a Circular Bioeconomy in Ireland (CABBBIE) project. She will be working on Optimisation, Performance Modelling and Scale-up of Bubble Column for Photosynthetic Biogas Upgrading.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

Nikita holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a master’s degree in Renewable Energy from MNIT Jaipur. For her master’s thesis, she worked on the Effect of nanoparticles as additives for enhancing the biomethane yield in copretreated lignocellulosic biomass under solid-state anaerobic co-digestion for sustainable bioeconomy in India. Her research interests include biogas production and upgradation and climate change mitigation.

Feature Project

CABBBIE

The aim of the CABBBIE project is to provide a comprehensive pathway to commercialise photosynthetic biogas upgrading technology for an adaptive, flexible and secure Irish bioeconomy by 2050.
