Business Models for Community Ownership of Wind Farms

SEAI funded project which examined the opportunities for community ownership of wind farms in Ireland. The project put the opinions and views of community groups at the centre of the research as they have been neglected in prior studies and their buy-in is essential for the success of such business models. 30 interviews were conducted up and down the county engaging with groups actively engaged in opposing the development of a wind farm in their area, groups actively campaign to construct a community-owned project and a number of stakeholders that have had no interaction with wind energy developments.
